Never, ever, quit the journey home to God!

Matthew 24:10-13 KJV “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But they that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Here we have it from the mouth of the Christ Himself, telling us that we must endure in the Christian faith until the end of our lives on earth, to our last breath in fact. If we once, consciously quit the Christian faith for whatever reason, there is no way back, for by doing so we will have, in essence, crucified Christ again. (Hebrews 3: 18.)

Throughout life it is inevitable that things will go wrong: sometimes through our own fault and sometimes due to things outside our control. The cares of this benighted world can press down heavily on even the most stout hearted and that is the time to trust God and to not quit. Many have turned away from God in a time of trial when by asking for His help they would have won through. One more effort and success might well have been theirs for we can never know how near to success we are without continuity of perseverance.

When receiving life's cruellest blows we must always turn to the Lord, for our everlasting Father who cares for us today will take care of us tomorrow and every day and will either shield us from suffering or He will give us an unfailing strength to bear it.

Christ never promised us an easy ride in our earthly life but if we never quit He most certainly promises a safe landing and when we win the only race that matters, the prize will be far beyond our human comprehension. Therefore, let us be at peace with ourselves and put away all anxious thoughts and imaginings and never, ever, quit the race to an eternity of unimaginably loving peace and joy as we become a child of the ever living God and will then see God and understand all things as we are assured by Paul in 1 Cor. 13: 12. “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

Never, ever must we quit the journey home to God for if we do then we will, like the caterpillar that stops its struggle to become a butterfly, die in our earthly skin and so never learn to fly with God-given Spiritual Wings through all eternity.

Never, ever, quit the journey home to God.
